  1. What We Do In The Shadows (2014). Omg this movie had me laughing so hard. It’s about 4 flatmates that just happen to be vampires. “Vampires don’t do dishes.” There’s even a chore chart, werewolves, and something called the “unholy masquerade” where vampires, werewolves, zombies and other “unholy” creatures get together to dance and socialize. It got a 98% rating from rotten tomatoes. I highly suggest it. I honestly think it might be one of my favorite movies. (It is not scary at all.) Oh, and if you liked “Flight of the Concords”, which I did, you’ll probably like this movie because those guys created it. I’ll leave you with this, “BAT FIIIIIIGHT!!!”
  2. You guys, ASMR!!! I love this girl’s youtube April.ASMR and her Instagram . For those of you not familiar with it, ASMR is basically mouth sounds of people eating things like sushi or candy. To me, it’s totally relaxing, but maybe not for others. It’s really popular right now.
  3. “Make Sure Your Friends Are Okay” @makesureyourfriendsareokay and makesureyourfriendsareokay.com “We’re starting a conversation about conversation – building a community that encourages you to have meaningful discussions with people you care about.” I love this idea because it encourages people to start that hard conversation that might save a life. Sometimes, when you are depressed it is hard to reach out. I really like the idea behind this campaign. The people that started it are about ten years younger than I am and that gives me hope that someday (sooner than we think) the stigma associated with mental illness will be gone. I mean, these young people are putting this slogan on tees and sweatshirts! I just really like this idea and will totally support and promote it when I can.
  4. Assorted Chocolates Holiday Standup Box, 6.4 oz. box. Yum. 4 different flavors: coconut and dark chocolate, caramel and milk chocolate, pecan with caramel and milk chocolate, and mint with dark chocolate. They are individually wrapped and delish! I like to treat myself to stuff like this as part of my self care.
  5. “Milk and Honey” poetry by Rupi Kaur. Kaur has another book, the “sun and her flowers”, that I plan to read next. I love short verse. I love poems about the human condition–love, lust, loss . . . life. I plan on sharing a few of these poems when I finish the book. They are so beautiful.

  1. Schitt$ Creek on Netflix. This show is adorable. It’s about a wealthy family that loses their finances due to poor investing and are forced to move to the tiny town of Schitts Creek. It’s hilarious seeing the two “cultures” meet.
  2. Toasted Coconut Bigelow Tea. This tea was gifted to me, but in my opinion, you really can’t go wrong with Bigelow–they make great, flavorful tea. This one really did taste like a coconut macaroon. Get some!
  3. Youtuber “Brandi TV who basically gets high off edibles and paints her face. She often recruits her husband in the videos and the two of them together are hilarious. He is so calm and chill and Brandi is bubbly and laughs at everything. This channel cracks me up. If you haven’t seen her before, you might want to check it out!
  4. Poshmark. Oh another clothing, accessory and shoe store app! This one is interesting and inexpensive. I haven’t ordered from the site yet, but the person who told me about it raves about the prices and the fact that you don’t pay for your item until you receive it. I am also thinking about selling on the app myself. I’ll keep you posted.
  5. “Destination Wedding” on Amazon Prime starring Wynona Rider and Keanu Reeves. This one is a classic romantic comedy starring two emotionally unavailable people who meet, fight, and well . . . watch it and see. Spoiler: There is a cameo by a mountain lion.

  1. Kevin Pena’s Instagram Account. This guy cracks me up when he starts talking to and feeding all the deer in his neighborhood. Plus, he runs a very cool non-profit organization that is called “Everybody Eats”. You got it. It’s about ending hunger. Check him out and see how silly he is!
  2. The Light is Coming” song by Ariana Grande ft. Nicki Minaj. Listen to this once and I bet you get it stuck in your head. I like this one. I like this one stuck in my head.
  3. Full Moon Cakes from the Traveling Witch. Easy. Delicious. Witchy. Make some. I’m going to. The full moon is on the 27th.
  4. Cereal. I think my love for cereal comes from my “stoner” days. Haha. Like I had a ton of those days, but anyway, my fave thing back then was cereal. Now, I have to use rice milk, but I still love it. My current faves are Life, Kashi GoLean Plus and Kashi Heart to Heart Honey Toasted Ohs and Barbara’s Puffins cereal.
  5. Air Conditioning. I am forever grateful because I burn and whine like a little you-know-what if I am out in the heat for too long.

  1. Honest Tea Organic Peach Oo-la-long. Oh do I love me a good oolong and Honest Tea makes a great one!
  2. “Shut Eye” on Hulu. If you thought psychics were con artists before, you’ll be totally convinced when you watch this show. (I do feel that the majority of them ARE con-artists and the other small percentage usually won’t charge you.) That’s just me tho and I read Tarot–guess you’ll just have to trust me. Anyway, I’m on the fence right now about whether I want to continue doing readings . . . But that’s a whole other blog entry.
  3. Chandrika Sandal Soap. This soap smells amazing and it makes your bathroom smell amazing. It is also gentle on your skin. I know, because I have very sensitive skin and I can still use it. Plus, I’m pretty sure it is vegan because it is “free from animal fat”. You can get these on Amazon for $5. I used to buy them from the natural market in a supermarket up in Bozeman, MT. When I was there recently, I bought 5 bars ’cause they were $1.25 plus no sales tax! What? What! I bought enough that I was able to gift one too.
  4. Maroon 5 ft. Cardi B “Girls Like You. SO MANY amazing things happening in this video! Have you seen this yet? Adam’s voice, Cardi B, and that DIVEST: WATER IS LIFE shirt<—-That’s protesting pipelines that run under major water sources or AT ALL, yo. Turn it up! Goosbumps!!
  5. Iced Tea Remixes. Lately I’ve been mixing my herbal teas with my cold brew Lipton to make some delicious flavors. I grab two Celestial Seasonings Peach bags and mix them with one Lipton cold brew in my mason jar. Or one blueberry and one lemon or Magic Mint. The possibilities are endless, really!

  1. Sugar Free Sour Patch Kids Watermelon Gum. I am trying really hard to eat clean lately. This is very hard for me because I love “dirty” things like pizza, bagels, and chicken nuggets, and CAAAAAARBS. Candy is pretty much off limits for me too. I’m not sure if this gum is necessarily “clean” but I love it and it is a small cheat, I guess. Huh, huh, I said I love dirty things. (Ignore that Mom.)
  2. Water, water, water, blah blah blah. I like water. I have to drink a ton of water. When you get old like me it becomes important to hydrate to keep your skin clear, your system running well, and your trips to the bathroom plentiful.
  3. Runa Amazon Guayusa Tea (Unsweetened Mint Honeysuckle). This stuff gives you a weird kinda tea buzz. Like, it’s not coffee but it’s stronger than tea. It tastes delicious though with the mint and honeysuckle.
  4. Cardi B “Be Careful” Music Video. OMG I LOVE THIS WOMAN and I am still working out to her album “Invasion of Privacy”. This song with this new video is actually my favorite lately. Oh dear . . .
    • The karma for you is gonna be who you end up with. You make me sick . . .
    • You even got me trippin’. You got me lookin’ in the mirror different. Thinkin’ I’M FLAWED because YOU inconsistent.”
  5. THE ROYAL WEDDING!!!! If you follow me on social media, um, you might know that I am a little obsessed. I even had a royal wedding slumber party with my mom and then she got me up at 4:30 a.m. I’m glad she did because we got to see everyone arriving. I was that pumped about it! I DO NOT get up at 4:30 for, um, nothing!
