Mondays are for SNL clips. I don’t have cable NBC, so I rely on Youtube for my SNL fix. I love it. It puts me in a good mood. I still remember when I was in junior high and my Mom would let me stay up and watch it. She would even tell my Grandma, when we stayed at her house, that it was okay if I stayed up for it. Now as an adult, I appreciate it, and treat it as a comfort. We need that kinda thing right now, I think. Saturday Night Live is really not just a show–it’s a statement of where we are and, even though things seem wrong in the world, if we can still laugh, things are gonna be okay.
My “Bookshelf”. Are you looking for something new to read? I used to read a lot and then my Etsy business took off and my smart phone addiction was at an all time high. Now I am reading on a regular basis again and I am updating my “Bookshelf” on this website as I go. Go ahead and sneak a peek at what I’ve been reading!
So, I’ve got this thing for Post Malone. He’s adorable! There’s just something about him that draws me in. I didn’t get a chance to see him perform at the Grammys until this week and I LOVED IT. His performance of “Dark Necessities” with The Red Hot Chili Peppers was fantastic. Seriously, I almost squealed.
Hand me a box of Momoas please. Oh what is a Momoa? It’s my favorite girlscout cookie, the Samoas, with Jason Mamoa on the box. I’m coo coo for those coconuts.
Big Little Lies. It’s like “Mean Girls” meets “The OC” with children. Plus, there’s a ton of TEA. (When did “spilling tea” become a “thing”? It’s kinda annoying, but whatever. I need to embrace the younger generation.) Anyway, the show is addicting. Here are a few things I liked about it: Adam Scott as Ed Mackenzie (his solo nearly made me cry), Nicole Kidman (I get it, but I would’ve murdered him), and the impressive drone shots of the California coast.
The Penny Hoarder. This is a great website if you are trying to manage your money. For me, financial articles are so boring and reading them is a little like pulling teeth, but this website does a good job of keeping me interested. Plus, most of the stuff they offer is not sponsored, so it’s legit.
Acorns. Speaking of budgets, I will learn to invest smart. I write about things. Investing is the last thing on my brain. However, Acorns is an amazing, new app that allows you to invest your spare change. Then when that change adds up to $5, Acorns does the rest. Plus, what a cute little name right?: “Acorns”–kinda less intimidating than, say, Merrill Lynch.
Perrier Lime. Do you want some sparkling water that tastes like Fruit Loops? Then getcha some of this stuff! It’s so good!
Russian Doll on Netflix. Timeline shifting, metaphysics, code breaking, NYC, Natasha Lyonne (The girl, Nadia says, “looked like if the girl from Brave and Andrew Dice Clay had a baby”) and love? Netflix is hitting out of the park with this one.
Black Mirror. Well, let’s see how much crap I get done when I discovered this little show? It’s genius and disturbing. Loved it. I get what the fuss was about.
L’Oreal Paris Cosmetics Voluminous Lash Paradise Mascara Set. This is one of those mascaras that you put the first coat on (it’s white) and then you put on the black mascara. Doing this causes thickness and length. I like it. It’s not as much as fake lashes, but it’s better than just a couple of strokes of regular mascara.
Vega One-All-In-One Plant Based Protein Powder, Mixed Berry. I like to make myself a good smoothie on the weekend or after work on the weekdays. I usually just add pineapple and mixed berries to one scoop powder and water. Easy and yummy. (It’s certified Vegan and Gluten free.)
CLINIQUE Gloss and Go Kisses Lip Set. My Mom gave me this gift set for Christmas and it really is luxurious. My Mom is good at finding stuff like that. LUX!
Clothing Rack w/ Weekly Outfits and Accessories/Shoes. I’m not that organized, but I am this organized. Do you know how much time I save in the morning doing this?!! A lot. Maybe I will start making my bed then. Hee. Probably not.
Springsteen on Broadway. This show kept me smiling so hard my cheeks hurt. His songs have always been stories sewn together with a unique longing–with that harmonica winding through you like a coal train leaving your hometown daring you to do the same. At least, that’s what he’s always sounded like to me. You can watch it on Netflix or listen to Spotify.
Nag Champa perfume oil. I always get asked what perfume I am wearing and told that I smell good (so, it’s working). It’s my secret weapon and now I am sharing it with you. I buy it from a very reliable and wonderful shop on Etsy called Naturals by Nana. I buy the custom 1/3oz. roll-on fragrance oil–they last 6 months+. There are nearly 500 oils to choose from. I’ve even purchased Calvin Klien’s Euphora from there too. Check the shop out!
Lucifer on Netflix. I wanted to hate it. I wanted to stop watching it. I didn’t want to give the DEVIL a chance. You watch it and you’ll see. (It’s based on Gaiman’s comic “The Sandman”). Get’s you asking the shocking question, “Would I sleep with Satan?” What?! You’ll see. Season 4 starts early 2019!
Bitmoji. I may be the last person to find out about this app, but it’s pretty fun. You create this cute little emoji persona. You can pick your hair, clothing and accessories. Haha! Anyway, my niece and sister-in-law showed it to me at Christamas. It’s so cute!
Boho Vintage Stuff. I just sold one of my vintage crochet afghans. I have more! Maybe you want one too? Also, I’ve extended free shipping until 12/31! Visit my Etsy shop MysticTeaTrinkets for some fun finds!
