If you don’t know what the law of attraction is, here is a quick run-down. Basically, what you think about, negative or positive, you attract. If you focus and ask for something, you get it–in some form or another. Sounds cheesy and New Age, but it is what it is.
I have a little story to tell you about my experience with the law of attraction. When I was living in Bozeman, Montana and working at the public library, I used to take the free bus service to work and then walk home after my shift was over. During those hour walks, I would think about my life and this thinking revolved around how broke I was. One afternoon, I came up with the brilliant idea. I would focus my energy on the image of a $100 bill just lying on the ground. I visualized bending down and picking up the $100 bill. I thought about how it would feel and look in my hand. So, for about a week, I kept my head down and my mind focused on that Franklin. I knew it just had to work.
It did work, just not in the way I was expecting.
About a week after my New Age quest, I was working at one of the front desks of the library when I man approached the desk and HANDED ME A CRISP $100 bill that he found on the ground in the lobby. There it was in my hand, crisp and unfolded. At the time, I didn’t think anything of it. Coincidence? Possibly.
I told my manager and she took care of it. No one claimed the money and it went to the police department along with other valuable items left at the library.
Later on I got to thinking about what had happened. That guy didn’t have to turn that $100 bill in. He could have pocketed it. I was amazed by his genuine honesty. I wasn’t supposed to find the $100 bill. I was supposed to learn something: people can be honest and good.
Since then, I’ve asked for only a couple of things to appear in my life. Each time I do, I always get what I ask for—and it’s not always good or exactly what I wanted, but there is ALWAYS a lesson learned from it.
That’s just how the law of attraction works, I guess.
